A Factory Administration Apprenticeship in the brass metal processing industry led to qualification as an Incorporated Financial Accountant and then to experience within the confectionery manufacturing industry in financial and commercial management positions.

I then took a Commission in the Royal Air Force, gaining active service experience during the Falklands Campaign and the First Gulf War. Resulting from advanced management and leadership training, I became a Chartered Logistician and was awarded an MBA, specialising in Human Resource Management. I was a specialist instructor at the RAF College Cranwell, training ab initio officer cadets to commissioning standard.

Following my RAF career I spent many years within a variety of industries, gaining executive experience in general management, training provision (management, leadership and information technology) and in business rescue and transformation. As a business psychologist and psychotherapist, I currently run an international business specialising in corporate and individual performance management and stress management. I am a visiting lecturer for the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation, currently coaching their senior executives to cope better with mounting work pressures. I also run programmes for KNPC in Change Management, Project and Planning Skills, Advanced Customer Service and Advanced Customer Relationship Management. I am qualified and experienced in Project Management and hold an MA in Psychotherapy, an MPhil in Corporate Stress Management and am a Principal Business Psychology Practitioner. In 2017 my expertise was recognised when I was awarded a Doctorate of the University (DUniv) degree for Services to Psychotherapy and Performance Management.

Increasing the effectiveness of a Service Desk’s induction processes through delivering a Train-the-Trainer course and on-the-job coaching. Working with Senior managers to improve their presentation and communication skills as part of an ongoing organisational change programme. An accredited business psychologist and specialist in HR and L&D with a background in international working. I have over 15 years experience across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia helping organisations to improve the way they work and to create more effective HR policies and practices.

This includes helping organisations create effective resourcing and recruitment methods, more effective management of learning and training, and creating effective performance management strategies. Currently also helping advise the UK government on the future of training and education in HR.

Key commercial roles include working at director level managing large budgets on global development and change projects.
