Product description

This is a rare program (playbill) from the National Tour engagement of the RODERICK COOK and NOEL COWARD musical comedy revue "OH COWARD!" at the American Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. (The Original Off-Broadway production opened October 4th, 1972 at the New Theatre in New York City and ran for 294 performances before going on the road.) ..... "Oh Coward!" is a musical revue in two acts devised by RODERICK COOK and containing music and lyrics by NOEL COWARD. Following two failed attempts at a Noel Coward revue in 1968 ("And Now Noel Coward" in Vancouver, British Columbia and "Noel Coward's Sweet Potato", Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City), Roderick Cook reshaped the material, first titled "A Noel Coward Revue" (or "To Sir, With Love"). The revue premiered on May 14th, 1970 at the Theatre in the Dell in Toronto, then retitled "Oh Coward!", played engagements in Boston and Chicago before opening in New York ..... The National Tour starred PATRICIA MORISON and the cast included CHRISTIAN GREY and DALTON CATHEY ..... CREDITS: Words and Music by NOEL COWARD; Sets designed by HELEN POND and HERBERT SENN; Musical Direction by ART WAGNER; Devised and Directed by RODERICK COOK; Produced by WRODERICK PRODUCTIONS ..... DETAILS: The eight page playbill measures 5 1/2" X 8 5/8" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, scenes, musical numbers and bios of each of the actors, the director and the playwright ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
